The third and most recent Arts Fair at Attenborough Centre for the Arts. in which we participated was held Saturday 3 May. It was very busy and we raised £1,150 through the sale of works by Alan Caine.
Visitors were asked pay what they can afford and anything from £200 to £2 has been donated.
There were lovely moments when two first year fine art students were captivated by Alan’s work, but they had no money. One checked in his bank account and said they could only pay £10.for a drawing they really loved. Of course we accepted that, Alan would have been delighted by their enthusiasm. They were really happy and pleased! Good moments like that made the day! .
Our first Fair sale of Alan Caine’s works raised £1,900 for the Attenborough Charity, which supports people with a disability to access the Arts. This second time we raised £935. This makes a total of £3,985 from the Friends to the Charity.
The next Fair will be in May 2026
